Chinesco Standing figure
Chinesco Standing figure, Protoclassic, ca. 100 B.C. - A.D.250,
This type of standing figure is often found among the burial goods of shaft tombs in western Mexico. Built beneath house platforms, these tombs served as family mausoleums and were periodically opened to inter the recently deceased. This figure is a fine representations of the Nayarit style known as Chinesco.
